Put Yourself Out There: Get noticed! How can you be popular if no one knows who you are? Say hello to the person that sits next to you in Science, Math, Reading, etc. Sit with somebody new at lunch. Make a promise to yourself that every day you will meet different people. While meeting new people, make sure to get to know them. Don't just say you've met the person.
- If you think that talking to that person would make you less popular, don't gossip about them. Just treat them like an everyday person.
- Whispering stuff about them into a popular girl's ear just lets them know you're talking about them, not showing them you're cooler than them (FYI: This doesn't normally make you more or less popular, so why do it?) Even though the first few times you gossip in that way about them would make them feel awful, they will eventually get back at you by ignoring you, telling an adult (if it becomes an issue), laughing at you with their friends, or worse, say something to you like, "You know, that's not very nice. How would you like it if someone were to do that to you?" or something like that. Then THEY'LL win by showing you that you have no right to hurt anyone in any way.
